Alec Motyer on Isaiah 24…
It is intrinsic to the doctrine of creation that human beings in sin are the supreme environmental threat.
Motyer does not write of ‘environmental threat’ in the manner of environmentalists. Instead, sinful man living upon the face of the earth has brought covenantal curse upon it. Because of man, the earth has become a ‘city of emptiness, of meaninglessness.’ Separated from Yahweh’s purposes, all of life spins further and further out of balance.
