Prayer for Illumination: July 13, 2014…

Princes persecute us without a cause, But our hearts stand in awe of Your word.
We rejoice at Your word As ones who find great treasure.
We hate and abhor lying, But we love Your law.
Seven times a day we praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments.
Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.
Lord, we hope for Your salvation, And we do Your commandments.
Our souls keep Your testimonies, And we love them exceedingly.
We keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, For all our ways are before You.

Our God, our Father, indeed all of our ways are before You every moment of our lives. Wherever we go and whatever we do, O God, You are there. Our lives are lived ever before the face of God. We pray, O Father, bring Your testimonies home to us. Make these things alive in our hearts, O God, that our lives might show forth Your praise, just as our mouths might show forth Your praise. We pray, O Father, use Your word to strengthen us and change us.

And Lord, I pray that the foolishness with which I speak as a man, O God, might be overlaid by Your wisdom…that our ears, which are so frequently dull, might be made sharp…that Your word might take root in our hearts and that the fruit might be borne in our lives…yes, Lord, even one hundred, or sixty or thirty fold.

And Father, we pray that the words of my mouth and the meditations of all our hearts might be in all ways acceptable in your sight, O God, our Fortress, our Strength, our Rock and our Redeemer.

Amen
