Prayer for illumination: February 2, 2014…

Teach us, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
And we shall keep it to the end.
Give us understanding, and we shall keep Your law;
Indeed, we shall observe it with our whole hearts.
Make us walk in the path of Your commandments,
For us delight in it.
Incline our hearts to Your testimonies,
And not to covetousness.
Turn away our eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive us in Your way.
Establish Your word to Your servants,
Who are devoted to fearing You.
Turn away our reproach which we dread,
For Your judgments are good.
Behold, we long for Your precepts;
Revive us in Your righteousness.

O God, indeed we do long for Your precepts. We long, O God, to made like Your Son, Jesus Christ, that our hearts might be like His and like Yours, that we might bear as fully as creation can the family resemblance of the family of God. We give You thanks, O God, for Your word. We pray, Father, that You would use Your word, that it might dwell richly in us. That we might be those who can ascend into Your tabernacle and might dwell in Your holy hill.

We know that we do that in Jesus Christ, O God, and we give You thanks for that. We thank You that we join together this day with His triumphant church, and we pray, Father, with Your triumphant church…may we hear Your voice.

And Father, we pray that in this day may the words of my mouth and the meditations of all our hearts be in all ways acceptable in Your sight, O God our Fortress, our Strength, our Rock and our Redeemer.

Amen
