Prayer after sermon: July 14, 2013…

Our Father, we give You thanks for Your goodness, we give you thanks that You give us Your word. We pray…through our dullness of mind and heart, through the inattention of our ears, through all those things that stand between us and listening to and hearing all those things that You say to us, we pray still, drive these things home into our lives. Make us, O God, like John the Baptist, not reeds blown in the wind, but those who look and point and say “Look, the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world. Look, the cross, where it has been done for us.”

Father, all these things in Christ’s holy name we pray.

Amen
